BOTOX: Myth VS Fact

Jun 5 • 1 minute read

Botox has become an increasingly popular treatment for diminishing the look of fine lines and wrinkles, giving you a more youthful look. With the treatment becoming more popular, there are myths going around about Botox, and we’re here to give you the facts!

  1. Myth: You should start getting Botox at a certain age

Fact: There is no “right” age to get Botox, it will be what’s right for you. Most experts believe that mid to late 20’s and early 30’s is a great time to start preventative Botox. This is to prevent the earliest fine lines from becoming full blown wrinkles.

     2. Myth: Botox is permanent

Fact: Botox lasts anywhere between 3-4 months, this is dependent on the person, in some Botox will last longer or shorter amounts of time.

     3. Myth: If I exercise frequently, my Botox will wear off faster

Fact: While it is not recommended to exercise for 24 hours after receiving your Botox treatment, there is no correlation between exercise and the longevity of Botox.

     4. Myth: If I stop doing Botox, my wrinkles will get worse

Fact: When you stop doing Botox treatment, the movement in that area will return and so will your wrinkles. Botox does not worsen it though.
